It’s not out of the ordinary for clowns to show up at birthday celebrations or holiday festivities. But, thanks to a company in Ireland, they’ll now be able to appear at funerals. The company, called Dead Happy Ireland, has one simple mission: to make funerals a happier occasion. Gerry Perry founded the company after hearing his friends talk about how they’d like their funeral to be more of a celebration than a downer.

As part of their service, clowns will appear at funeral homes, graveside services, or at a wake in one’s home. If customers decide to use a clown for two or more of these events, they receive a discount. An advertisement they posted claimed that they’ll make balloon animals, bring squirt guns, and even jump into the grave, based on the mourners’ preferences. That’s one way to make an exit.
