Bea Arthur might be known as sassy Dorothy on the popular show, The Golden Girls, but the actress’s impressive résumé goes far beyond her acting credits. Arthur, who died in 2009, served in the military for two and a half years when she was 21 years old. She always denied her time in the military, but documents reveal that she did serve. As a matter of fact, she met her husband, Private Robert Arthur, while she was enlisted. Bea served as a truck driver and typist, ending as a staff sergeant when she was honorably discharged in 1945.
