Considering the number of years that a woman will menstruate, it’s no surprise that they are going to use a substantial number of tampons throughout their life. However, with that point in mind, it is still an estimation as to the average number that will be used, even though the end result is going to be pretty surprising.

On average, a woman is going to use a total of 11,400 tampons in her lifetime, and that is certainly a figure that is going to be far above what you would expect. This does vary a lot, but even if that figure is 2,000 tampons out, that is still a lot to purchase throughout a lifetime.

However, this figure would drop if you were alive in Prehistoric times, as women then only menstruated a fraction of the number of times due to a shorter life expectancy. Also, women that live in an agrarian society are also known to menstruate around half as many times as women in the western world.
