Thimphu is the largest city in the small country of Bhutan, located in the Himalayas. Residents of the city also have a unique fixation on one item in particular—the phallus. Erect penises are painted in artwork, and statues are displayed on rooftops and in cities. The Buddhists in this kingdom believe that having phallic artwork and devotion will protect from evil and aid in fertility. Now, this puts a whole new meaning on using protection.
