There are certainly moments where a lawyer ends up being extremely intelligent when it comes to the way in which they are able to win a case. Take the example of a lawyer in the United States who was asked by a client to represent him in a traffic case. The lawyer in question was unsure as to the reliability of the one and only witness that existed, the police officer that had initially caught them.

To show that the police officer was unreliable, the lawyer actually got somebody else to dress up as the client in question and to sit there in the court. As soon as the police officer was brought into the courtroom to be questioned, the lawyer asked him if he could identify the person in question. Immediately, the police officer pointed straight to the individual and said that they were sitting in the chair only to then be told that this was not the case.

As they were unable to correctly identify the individual, it was deemed that the case was too weak and the real defendant was then cleared of any wrongdoing.
