Britney Spears has worn a variety of hats, from touring pop star, to star of the low-rated film, Crossroads. However, the one role that Britney didn’t follow through with is the one that made all of the headlines. In 2009, Spears was considering taking part in a movie about the Holocaust, called “The Yellow Star of Sophia and Eton.” She would have played a girl who travels back in time to Germany and falls in love with a boy in a concentration camp. The Central Council of Jews in Germany released a statement proclaiming their disgust with the film idea and the potential of Spears being cast in the role. The president of the Central Council said that she believed the only reason they wanted to attach a star of her caliber to the film was to get funding, and that they should have more heavily weighed ethical considerations. The movie faded into obscurity, with no casting or filming ever taking place.
