According to science, humans are able to distinguish the difference between hot and cold water being poured. Now, while that may sound like a piece of useless information. It has been shown that it is important for the sake of advertising so, whenever you see an advert with tea or coffee being poured and there is the sound of water, they really do use hot water for that moment.
It is all to do with the frequency at which the sounds resonate within our hearing, and if you pay close attention to it in a quiet room and carry out a few experiments, then you will understand exactly what we mean. The difference is rather subtle, but it does exist and this is just another rather quirky thing that us humans appear to be capable of doing.
