You would think that a famous musician in India would end up being Indian especially when he appeared as if he was indeed from that part of the world. Well, you may be surprised to hear that this was not actually the case, when it comes to the story of one man called Korla Pandit.

Korla was one of the first TV stars of his kind and had managed to gain a certain sense of stardom and fame back in the 1940’s. He was regarded as being this amazing musician, but he also managed to keep a secret until after his death.

So, what was his secret? Well, it turns out that he was not Indian and was actually an African-American male who was born and bred in Missouri. He had managed to spend his entire life cheating people about his origins although you would expect that it would be a lot harder to do this in the world today thanks to the Internet.
