Howard Holt was serving as Prime Minister of Australia when he suddenly disappeared in December 1967. Holt had been the Prime Minister for just over a year and a half at the time of his disappearance. He was swimming at Cheviot Beach, and, due to the rough seas, is presumed to have drowned. Some have their own theories on the disappearance, but it has been deemed to be an accident. The body has never been recovered.
