Nowadays, hiring people to do chores or run errands for you is the norm, and Japan has taken hired help to the next level. A business called Ikemeso Danshi was created for female workers to hire good-looking men to come wipe away their tears.

That’s right, these women pay to have a stranger comfort them. The company, which is based in the Kanto region, targets women who are overworked and overstressed. The women place an order then watch a sad movie with the man they’ve hired in order to get the tears flowing. Once they start crying, the man gently wipes away their tears. The cost for this service starts at about 7,600 yen, or $66.
