The psychological side of war can be tough, but then there are aspects within the United States army that focus on using psychology in order to gain the upper hand in battle. This has led to them trying all different kinds of tactics in places such as Afghanistan, but it is the way in which they employed these tactics that is rather interesting

It seems to be the case that calling people names is a sure way of getting them to react in the way that you want them to although, you do need to understand the best names to call them. For example, the psychological operations department decided that they would use loudspeakers in Afghanistan to basically call out the Taliban and encourage them to take part in fights that they just could not win.

So, what do you think they would shout at the Taliban through those loudspeakers in order to get the upper hand? Well, it turns out that they decided to use names such as ‘cowardly dogs’ and ‘lady men’ which were certain to get them upset and to run out in order to fight. As they did so, they were merely picked off.
