Police in Mumbai, India had a rather novel approach to dealing with a thief who was caught stealing a gold chain. Before he could be arrested, he swallowed the chain in the hope that this would then mean there was no evidence and he would be allowed to go free.
However, it turns out that the police had other ideas as they were determined to get that chain back and then charge him with theft.
As a result, they force-fed the thief a total of 48 bananas and then just waited around until they did their trick and forced him to go to the toilet. Ultimately, it led to the gold chain making another appearance, and upon doing so the thief was swiftly arrested and charged.
Now, that is some clever police work.
