When you think of the skin of a dinosaur, what do you think? The chances are you will immediately think of scaled and a skin that pretty much resembles that of the modern-day alligator. Well, even though you will be right in a number of cases, it is not always true that all dinosaurs had the same kind of skin.

In fact, fossils have been discovered that shows a range of dinosaurs were actually covered in feathers just like our birds of today. These fossils have been found preserved in amber, so a substantial amount of detail has been recovered. It also showed that they would have often been rather colorful and not dull like a crocodile.

You have to admit that the idea of a feathery dinosaur does manage to bring down the ferocity associated with them and they are just not that scary. Well, until you physically come across one on your own.
