Stephen King completely dominates in his genre of writing with his novels selling by the millions and being turned into various movies and TV shows. However, it was oh so close to just never happening at all for him.
His first novel was called ‘Carrie’ and he was certainly very resilient at submitting it to companies to get it published. After being rejected for the 30th time, he decided that he was never going to make a career as a writer. Ultimately, he then decided to throw it in the trash and to try to move on with his life.
Upon noticing this, his wife is said to have picked it up out of the trash and told him to persevere with it and resubmit. He listened to her and it was indeed eventually picked up and became a major success. Of course, after that there was never any looking back for King, with his books now dominating the book charts upon their release.
