Using the term ‘bucks’ when it comes to US Dollars is something that we are all familiar with, but where do you think that the term comes from?

To answer that, we need to go back to the earliest days of the settlers because even though money was in circulation, skins were also regarded as being a currency of the day. Out of the skins, the deerskin was one of the more common varieties, and clearly the buck concept comes from this relation to the use of deerskin.

There is even a note from 1748 which states that 5 bucks were used in order to obtain some alcohol that had been distilled by the Native Americans. It seems that the term has since stuck, and it is certainly a pretty cool way to describe currency.
