The humble coconut is perhaps not as humble as you think. The truth of the matter is; it can be a deadly weapon that is thrust into our path by nature whenever it decides that it wishes to strike.
Of course, the majority of coconuts are growing from a pretty impressive height, and there is always going to be a point where gravity takes control and those coconuts must announce their arrival to the world and plummet to the ground. We all know that it is going to happen but are never sure when that time is going to be, which is why they are deadly.
It is believed that approximately 150 people are killed every single year simply by falling coconuts. When you think about the speed at which they fall and the thud that they make when they land, then it is pretty obvious as to why it could be fatal.
The key here is to just look up, or not walk too closely to anywhere that you know coconuts are growing because you hardly want to become another statistic, do you?
