There have been different stages in history where having freckles was deemed as being beautiful followed by it being one of those things that you just did not want to have. At this point, it was common for people to go to amazing lengths to try to remove them, but you have to feel that a line had been crossed back in 18th century America when it reached a point that not having freckles was seen as being the fashionable look.

So, what do you think the women of this time would do in an attempt to rid themselves of those freckles? Well, the story goes that they would effectively wash their face with some warm urine, as they believed that this would somehow remove the offending freckles and leave their skin blemish free. Of course, this would not then actually work, meaning they had rubbed urine all over their face for no reason whatsoever, but it was certainly a craze that caught on for a short period of time.

Perhaps using makeup to conceal them is a much better way of achieving a desired end result?
