What would you think if you were told that gasoline was not actually gasoline? Well, apart from being shocked it would then open up a completely different story than what you probably expected when it came to this term that we are all familiar with.

It turns out that gasoline actually has no direct correlation to gas and that is the first surprising fact. The origins of the story is that it was actually connected to a brand name that was known as Cazeline. A store owner took it upon himself to convert the C to a G by adding a line to it and the name kind of took off from that moment on.

It is unknown as to how much of that story is true, but it does sound rather funny that it all came from one single store where the owner had something against a brand name and took to defacing it for whatever reason he had.
