Even some of the greatest individuals that have ever invented anything do tend to get things ever so slightly wrong at some point. Take Thomas Edison as a good example. He is seen as being a rather intelligent guy that was able to effectively change how we view the world, but not every single invention could be classed as being a success.

Take one invention that was associated with him that just failed to catch on. The invention in question was referred to as being a voice-operated sewing machine, so you can already see why it just failed to have the kind of impact that he was hoping for. Basically, the individual would blow into a mouthpiece and somehow or other the sewing machine would then work. It seems that this invention failed to take off as it was hardly going to replace the more traditional form using pedals as that was regarded as being easier to use, as well as, easier to control.

Thankfully, Edison was not a failure at everything that he would then go ahead and try to invent or else the world would look slightly different than it does today. However, perhaps there are times where you should be careful and not get too ahead of your own success.
