Being the mayor is often a job that is filled with stress as you try to appease everyone and still maintain a real sense of authority in your city or town. However, the town of Talkeetna in Alaska decided to do things differently from the rest of the world back in 1997.
For a number of years since 1997, the mayor of the town has been called Stubbs. So far there is nothing new or unusual you would like to think, but that is not actually the case because it turns out that Stubbs is a cat. Yes, the residents voted that a cat would become the mayor which must have been the worst decision for the mice of the town.
Clearly, this was a protest vote and showed how they just did not take things seriously enough for them to go ahead and vote into office a real human being. Stubbs stayed there in this position for a number of years so he must have been doing something correctly.
