The idea of reading the terms and conditions on any website seems to bore us, and yet there may be a very good reason as to why we should pay them closer attention than we had perhaps initially wanted to.

To show what we mean, we need to go to the United Kingdom and a video games retailer called Gamestation. They decided to conduct an experiment whereby they would show that people just do not bother to read the terms before they make a purchase online.

To do so, they added in a clause that said they would take control of your immortal soul if you purchased something online and agreed to these terms and conditions. It turns out that they now own over 7,500 immortal souls. They felt that they had managed to prove their point and had no need to continue owning the souls since they had no idea what they would then eventually do with them.

So, if you think that there is nothing to be worried about in the terms and conditions, then perhaps just check them out first as you never know what could be lurking in there.
