We are all familiar with the varieties of skin color that are in the world, but what about blue? You have probably never thought about people having blue skin, and you would imagine that it would be something out of a horror movie, but it’s not.
You see, there was one family based in Kentucky that did indeed have blue skin, and you can imagine the looks that they would get whenever they were out and about. The family was known as the Fulgates of Troublesome Creek, and even though we are not absolutely certain as to how they managed to get their blue skin, we can guess.
According to the experts, it may have been as a direct result of a combination of two things. First, there may be an aspect of inbreeding within the family that could have contributed, but at the same time they were perhaps all suffering from a condition known as methemoglobinemia which is known to affect our genes. Put the two together, and it is just possible that it could very well lead to them developing blue skin.
